Agricultural Building Project:
Flying Cross Farm Riding Arena | Award-Winning Post-Frame Equestrian Arena
Goshen, Kentucky
Winner: 1st Place in Horse Barns (Over 5,000 sq. ft.) – 2019 National Frame Building Association Awards
Project Overview:
When Flying Cross Farm set out to build a new riding arena, they needed a structure that would feel timeless, perform flawlessly, and complement the historic charm of their Kentucky property. Walters Buildings delivered a design that achieved all three, earning national recognition with a 1st Place Award from the National Frame Building Association in 2019.

The Exterior:
Perched on a bill in Goshen, Kentucky, this 90′ x 170′ monitor-style arena is both functional and visually striking. Its elevated center roofline allows additional windows to flood the space with natural light, creating a bright, inviting environment for riders and spectators alike. Atop the structure, a custom-built 16′ wide cupola crowns the building, a one-of-a-kind focal point that blends modern engineering with traditional equestrian architecture.
The Interior:
Inside, the details speak to thoughtful craftsmanship and rider experience. A 4-foot tapered cedar arena liner, laid in a reverse triangle pattern, adds warmth and natural beauty while protecting the interior. Ninety feet of mirrored wall panels provide a professional environment for riders to evaluate form and technique. Every feature of this arena was designed with precision, comfort, and longevity in mind, proof of our commitment to building for performance and pride.
