Project Overview:

The Bagdad Fire Protection District, a rural all-volunteer department serving 58 square miles in Shelby County, Kentucky, needed a new station that would protect both their firefighters and the community they serve. When it came time to replace their aging facility, they turned to Walters Buildings, a trusted partner with more than six decades of experience designing safe, efficient, and long-lasting public service structures.

The Building:

This award-winning 6,000-square-foot facility balances durability, efficiency, and comfort. The garage measures 54′ × 72′ × 14′ and includes three synchronized overhead doors on each side for quick, drive-through response while minimizing exhaust exposure. Inside, a non-skid epoxy floor and integrated air and electric drops support maintenance work on emergency vehicles.

The Offices:

The connected 54′ × 40′ × 9′ office wing houses a dispatch center, meeting room, kitchen and lounge, bathrooms, lockers, and washroom, creating a functional, professional environment for volunteers on duty.
