Project Overview:
Built in 2023 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, this custom post-frame hobby garage proves that a pole barn can be as personal as it is practical. Designed to house an antique tractor collection and provide a relaxing retreat, the finished space captures the best of both worlds, a hardworking structure with a warm, welcoming heart.
The Building:
The project began with a clear vision: to create a durable, climate-controlled environment that would showcase vintage tractors while offering room to unwind. Walters Buildings supplied the engineering, plans, and materials, while Bower Design & Construction brought the vision to life through expert construction and finishing.
The build unfolded in three stages, starting with the main structure, followed by an addition, and culminating in a porch that completes the design. Measuring spaciously to fit multiple antique tractors, the pole barn includes three overhead doors for easy access and flow, along with in-floor drainage to keep the space clean and dry.
The Interior:
Inside, every detail serves both form and function. The bar and kitchen area create a social hub for gatherings, while the bathroom and utility room add convenience. The rustic wood wall paneling contrasts beautifully with the black-painted trusses and steel ceiling, giving the interior a refined, finished aesthetic without straying from its agricultural roots.
The result is a building that celebrates craftsmanship, community, and comfort, all under one sturdy, timeless roof.
